Message for the Mana’o – Hele Ka ‘Olelo (Walk the talk)
Are you walking the talk? In some ways, no I haven’t been. There is a lot of angst and frustration at things in general lately, and I haven’t really been in my Aloha state of mind. Connie presents us with a great affirmation/chant to “talk” and for use as a guide:
I am spirit greatness. I’m a powerful creator destined to live pono and achieve the highest potential of my own soul. That’s my great purpose in life. Mine is the journey back to Spirit. That’s my story. Let it be told.
I have some thoughts on this and it’s been very interesting to say the least – about ‘ohana (family) and taking care of our own, and my reluctance in many ways to do that. More on that later.
Message for the Pu’uwai – A’ole Okole (No buts)
Aunty’s message “how you gonna t’ink wit’ yoah butt on yoah head?” In this case, because it is a message for the Pu’uwai, the emotional centre, it might be a case of how you going to feel if you’re always saying “but...”? To me it’s like feeling something and then coming up with a reason not to act on it. Again, this relates back to the first one, of how are you walking your talk, or not?
Message for the Na’au – Ka Hana Pono (The Practice of Pono)
“Hana means work. It comes from the Hawaiian words ‘ha’ meaning ‘breath’ and ‘na’ which is the plural form. Basically it means ‘many breaths’. You don’t get up in the morning and take a breath or two and then forget about it, or breathe only when it’s convenient. It’s the same with working the pono.”
THIS is very important because it’s something we see in so-called spiritual practice all the time. We meditate when it’s convenient, or pray when we want something but don’t give thanks when we’re not after something. We are nice to people we like and mistreat those who we judge as being different or more difficult to deal with. That’s not very aloha, or pono, and again reflects back to the above information. A timely reminder that I need to be living pono, not just doing it when I’m not sick or have the time, or whatever my reasons are, again, no buts!
Message from Spirit – Na Mahalo Elima (The five thank you’s)
“Gratitude is an automatic activator of Pono because it aligns with spirit greatness. The moment you feel gratitude, you are in pono. And if you fall out of it the moment you stop this practice, do it again. Keep coming back into pono, moment by moment. Then expand the moments into a lifetime of pono.”
There’s not much more that needs to be said is there? This is something I’ve become aware about in the last week I’ve been sick. I haven’t really been very grateful for things lately, and that needs to be changed again. I used to do a daily 5 gratitude’s, and I’m going to start doing them again, because there are no excuses not to do it other than laziness.
Wow!
